The Glow Parlor

Hi there, I’m Kayla—a licensed Aesthetician with a deep passion for skincare, leadership, and positivity. I’ve been in the skincare industry since April 2011, continuously growing through hands-on experience, advanced education, and a commitment to providing proactive, personalized services. Like many in this field, my journey started with my own skin struggles. As a teenager, I had oily, acne-prone skin and tried everything—cleansing religiously, using every scrub, spot treatment, and cream that promised poreless perfection. I cycled through prescription Retin-A, Differin gel, antibiotics, and eventually, Accutane. While Accutane worked temporarily, within a year of finishing the treatment, my acne came back with a vengeance. What frustrated me most wasn’t just the breakouts—it was that no one was teaching me how to care for my skin. New prescriptions were handed to me every month, but education and empowerment were missing. Then in 2008, a friend gifted me a microdermabrasion treatment—and it completely changed my perspective. I was introduced to the world of Aesthetics, not realizing then that it would become my calling. Soon after, I lost my job at the insurance agency I worked for—a moment that felt like a setback, but turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Just days later, I was accepted into the Aesthetics program at Francis Tuttle, and everything began to fall into place. Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful. My own struggles with problematic skin gave me empathy and insight. Losing my job gave me the opportunity to pursue my passion. Together, those challenges shaped my career and helped me build the business I love today. Because sometimes, your biggest letdown is preparing you for your biggest level-up.
